Hatha Yoga  What most people think of as simply "yoga" is the branch of yoga called hatha yoga.  This class combines breathwork (pranayama) with a variety of physical postures (asanas) and deep relaxation (savasana).  Asanas are held for a number of breaths to allow students the opportunity to open and release into the pose.  Our hatha classes are eclectic, inspired by a number of different styles of yoga.  All levels are welcome and variations will be offered so more advanced students can move deeper into the asanas.

Gentle Yoga  Breathwork, meditation and gentle mat stretches make this our most relaxing class.  Students stay on the floor, slowly moving into asanas that open the hips and release the low back while melting away tension.  Supported restorative poses are occassionally included.  This is a good class for beginners, those with physical limitations, or anyone who needs relief from stress.

All-Level Flow Yoga Vinyasa (flow) synchronizes movement with breath.  Students transition smoothly from one asana to the next on an inhale or an exhale; asanas are held briefly.  This class always includes sun salutations.  Vinyasa is suitable for those who would like a more physically active practice. The all-level flow class includes detailed instruction for those new to vinyasa as well as challenges for more advanced students.  Some hatha yoga experience is recommended but not necessary.

Chair Yoga  A yoga class especially for those who, due to age, disability, injury, weight challenges or limited balance or mobility, find it difficult to get down on on the floor. Students enjoy the benefits of relaxation and increased flexibility from practicing yoga while sitting in a chair.  The class will focus on breathwork, stretches, supported strengthening poses and meditation.

Active Flow Yoga  Available only in the summer, our intermediate-level vinyasa class is a fast-paced class based on Ashtanga-styled (also called power yoga) sun salutations.  Students will get to explore challenging asanas as they build core strength and flexibility.  This class is suitable for those with yoga experience and athletes.  Be prepared to sweat!  Bring a towel and a water bottle.

Yoga Body Shop You'll get Savasana, but you're going to have to earn it! This one-hour class combines light weights and resistance bands with fast-paced yoga flows to improve cardiovascular endurance, build muscles and firm your core. Bring a towel and a water bottle.

Kids Yoga  Kids love to do yoga!  This class is designed especially for kids aged 5 - 12.  Asanas are combined with storytelling, games and other activities that make yoga fun.  Kids develop strength and balance while learning to focus.  Partner poses teach kids to work together.  30 minute classes are $5.  Watch for the next 8-week session.
